What can be learned from the Belle spectrum for the decay τ−→ντKSπ−

2008

Abstract A theoretical description of the differential decay spectrum for the decay τ − → ν τ K S π − , which is based on the contributing Kπ vector and scalar form factors F + K π ( s ) and F 0 K π ( s ) being calculated in the framework of resonance chiral theory (R χ T), additionally imposing constraints from dispersion relations as well as short distance QCD, provides a good representation of a recent measurement of the spectrum by the Belle Collaboration. Our fit allows to deduce the total branching fraction B [ τ − → ν τ K S π − ] = 0.427 ± 0.024 % by integrating the spectrum, as well as the K ∗ resonance parameters M K ∗ = 895.3 ± 0.2 MeV and Γ K ∗ = 47.5 ± 0.4 MeV , where the last t…

Spectral distribution for the decay τ→ντKπ

2006

Abstract With the newly available data sets on hadronic τ decays from the B -factories BaBar and BELLE, and future data from BESIII, precise information on the decay distributions will soon become available. This calls for an improvement of the decay spectra also on the theoretical side. In this work, the distribution function for the decay τ → ν τ K π will be presented with the relevant Kπ vector and scalar form factors being calculated in the framework of the resonance chiral theory, also taking into account additional constraints from dispersion relations and short-distances. As a by-product the slope and curvature of the vector form factor F + K π ( s ) are determined to be λ + ′ = 25.6…

Meson Resonances at large Nc: Complex Poles vs Breit-Wigner Masses

2009

The rigorous quantum mechanical definition of a resonance requires determining the pole position in the second Riemann sheet of the analytically continued partial wave scattering amplitude in the complex Mandelstam s variable plane. For meson resonances we investigate the alternative Breit–Wigner (BW) definition within the large NC expansion. By assuming that the pole position is View the MathML source and exploiting unitarity, we show that the BW determination of the resonance mass differs from the pole position by View the MathML source terms, which can be extracted from ππ scattering data. For the case of the σ (f0(600)) pole, the BW scalar mass is predicted to occur at not, vert, simila…

Nature of the light scalar mesons

2005

Despite the apparent simplicity of meson spectroscopy, light scalar mesons cannot be accommodated in the usual $q\bar q$ structure. We study the description of the scalar mesons below 2 GeV in terms of the mixing of a chiral nonet of tetraquarks with conventional $q\bar q$ states. A strong diquark-antidiquark component is found for several states. The consideration of a glueball as dictated by quenched lattice QCD drives a coherent picture of the isoscalar mesons.

The soliton-soliton interaction in the Chiral Dilaton Model

2012

We study the interaction between two B = 1 states in the Chiral Dilaton Model where baryons are described as nontopological solitons arising from the interaction of chiral mesons and quarks. By using the hedgehog solution for B = 1 states we construct, via a product ansatz, three possible B = 2 configurations to analyse the role of the relative orientation of the hedgehog quills in the dynamics of the soliton-soliton interaction and investigate the behavior of these solutions in the range of long/intermediate distance. One of the solutions is quite binding due to the dynamics of the pi and sigma fields at intermediate distance and should be used for nuclear matter studies. Since the product…
